Spicy Tuna Pasta -Italian meets India Dish

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged about anything so, I thought since I have time off now I should really start posting more often

Cooking has slowly become one of those newly discovered talents which I never knew existed in me. I sometimes like to cook when I’m either bored or when I’m in the mood to cook for the family. When cooking a dish, it is not just about putting things together, I think it is more about bringing new creations to life through food. In this Blog, I teach you how to make the perfect spicy Tuna pasta for you guys to cook and enjoy.

Today’s dish is called the Spicy Tuna Pasta – a combination of Italian meets India/Asian cuisine.

"Italian food with a Asian twist" I call it
 What you need

·         Tuna Chunks x4 (soaked in Brine or spring water)

·         Pasta sauce x 3 (flavour of your own choice, I like to go for the simple Tomato and Herbs.)

·         Onion, peppers, black pepper, tomato, mushrooms and garlic (if some prefer greater taste)  x 1

·         Tin of sweet corn x 1

·         Asian spices (Any of your choice although I use Tandoori masala and grind chilies.) 1 teaspoon of each spice.

·         Mozzarella cheese x 1

Simple!

Step One

Depending on how many people you are cooking for I usually use half a pack of fusilli pasta if cooking for five people. Place the pasta into a large pan of boiling water. Bring pasta to  boil and then simmer uncovered for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally making sure the pasta does not stick to the bottom

Pour your pasta sauce in a large pan ready to be heated on the hob when the pasta is cooked.

HOT!!!
 Step Two

Meanwhile the pasta is being cooked. Cut your peppers, onions, and mushrooms to small edible size. Once you have done this put it to one side. This will be added when the pasta is cooked. Oftenly, I use mushrooms and peppers but unfortunately I did not use it in this recipe, instead  I used onions and sweet corn only. However, I do advise you to use mushrooms and peppers as it brings out more taste of the spicy tuna dish

Step Three

Open the tinned tuna chunks and drain one by one. Once drained empty each tin in to a bowl. With a fork mix the chunky tuna together so the tuna bits are not chunky anymore and are more flakey

After this, you add the spices. You may add whatever spices you want but I like to add Tandoori masala and chillies which have been crushed and grinded together.   Add one teaspoon of each. Make sure you do not add more than one table spoon as the spices are very hot and they may ruin the taste if too much is added. Mix the spices with the tuna making sure they have been rubbed in well.

If you don't have any of the above spices, just mix Nandos Pri Pri sauce with the tuna. It gives the same spicy tasta.

For those Spice lovers!!!

Step Four

Once the pasta is cooked, drain the water out from the pasta and leave to drain in the sink. In the meantime, put your pasta sauce on low heat. Slowly stir the sauce making sure that there are no bubbles popping up and that the sauce is being heated. Once the pasta sauce is heated, add everything you have cut including sweet corn to the sauce and stir until everything is mixed together and the sauce is mildly hot.

Once the pasta has been drained, put it back into the same pan you used to boil it with. Put the pasta pan on a very low heat and add the bowl of spicy tuna in to the pasta. Slowly mix the tuna and pasta making sure that the tuna is evenly mixed in to the pasta. Then add half a packet of mozzarella Cheese followed by your heated pasta sauce. Keep mixing the pasta making sure the sauce reaches everywhere and the cheese has melted.

MIX
Final Step

Bon Appétit! Enjoy! You may add some boiled vegetables or any other side of your choice to accompany the spicy tuna dish.

 OH AND DON'T FORGET!!!
